“Old Jack Big Ute”

“Old Jack Big Ute” was referred to in a family history book about the Garner family, including Phillip Garner and Mary Hedrick, who had a farm in Burch Creek, Ogden. Since there are mentions in other settler stories of separate men known as Big Ute and Indian Jack, the reference here may be a miscommunication about those two men. Or it may be a single person here.
