Little Soldier was a known leader of the “Weber Ute” band and frequently appeared in historical records. Numerous photos were taken of him in Salt Lake City, Utah, although only a couple of them were circulated with his name attached. The “Pahute” label on some of these photos is incorrect.
These date between the late 1860s-early 1870s.
The high-quality photos come from the C.W. Carter glass plate negative collection, the others from various auction and collector sites.
In these photographs, he’s seen with unidentified Individual 2 (possibly his wife), individual 3, individual 4, with presumed individual 5, individual 9, and individual 11. As well as three unknown children, and five other unidentified adults.
He may also appear in a group photo titled “Indians at Salt Lake” that includes individual 14, individual 15, individual 16, and individual 17, as well as other unidentified men. (Little Soldier might be the man seated on the floor, second from the right.) But this is not certain, due to poor photo quality.
