Individual 13

Individual 13 is an unidentified man who appears in photos with Individual 5 (who’s cautiously ID’d as being the same man who’s in a photo with Little Soldier and his presumed wife). Individual 13 is also frequently photographed with individual 14.

Given individual 5’s uncertain link to Little Soldier, individuals 13, 14, and 15 may or may not have had immediate association with Little Soldier.

Individual 13 and 14 also appear in outdoor photographs of men, women, and children, identified as Shoshones, that were taken by Andrew J. Russell in 1869 during the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad.

These date between the late 1860s-early 1870s.

The glass plate images come from the C.W. Carter glass plate negative collection, the others from various auction and collector sites.

A collection of documents, excerpts, and photographs relevant to the so-called Weber Ute people of Northern Utah. Not a complete history — research aid only.
