- Ca 1851: In Layton, John Adams throws a rock at some young Indian men who were smashing watermelons, and gashes one’s head
- Ca 1851: Uintah Cemetery’s first burial was an Indian man; settlers dug the grave, and the man’s dog was killed and laid on top
- July 1851: After horses are stolen from the Ogden area, the Weber militia hunts down an Indian camp and kills a man for resisting them when they try to force him to lead them to the thieves
- Fall of 1851: Settlers arriving in the Uintah/East Weber area report that the Indians are “very treacherous”; they are afraid to leave women and children alone and fear attack at night
