October 9th, 1850
Met according to the orders of the Mj Gen maid preparation for the campaign detaled a guard for for the fort called the role and dismissed 10th perarded at 9 oclock and ½ past started on the south rout front guard under command of Lieut [?] Weaver rearguard under command of Lieut Carter march to the Spanish Fork stoped for noon at 2 oclock marched to sumit creak camped for the night
[pg 11] 11th marched to willow creak found a dead Indian on the road stopped for noon then marched to the salt cave and camped for the night 12th detailed [a camp?] guard took the rest of the company marched up the canion to the Salt [?] on our return got one horses leg broke left Camp marched down the creak to willow and camped for the night 13th marched down salt creak to its mouth then to Spanish fork and camted for the night 14th marched for home land 11 oclock all well and in good sperits dismissed

State Deseret Utah Fort Oct the 10 1850
Acording to the orders of Mj General
Captain Cownover mustered the forces of the fort
And then he called for the horse men and twenty four
Turned out he then marched to hobble creek and
Halted and found the camp all well he then
Marched to the Spanish fork and halted one hour
And four wagons came up from san pet and halted
Reported all well we then marched to petetny
And then to Summit creek and camped for the
Night
Then we marched to Yuab valley we halted on
Willow Creek and the marched up salt creek
Wee seen a few Indians a long the grass
Wee camped for the night six miles in the canion
The 12 we marched down salt creek and the
Indians was afraid and runn to the mountains
And left there lodges we them camped
For the night
The 12 wee marched down salt creek and through
The canion to the head of the lake we seend
Few more Indians they fled for the
Mountains wee marched down the creeke
To the lake we marched down the lake to
Tablepoint wee then crossed the petetny and cross
The plains to the Spanish fork and camped
For the night

Not have a great deal to say and we could not
Find any of the horses that was stolen by the
Indians wee returned home all well

Sir In consequence of the resignation of Capt Ed. Ellsworth and the disorganization of the Juvenile Rifle Company you are hereby instructed and authorized to raise a company of Juvenile Rifles from the young male inhabitants of the Great Salt Lake County between the ages of fourteen and eighteen years, officering them as prescribed for other Infantry companies, & make a report of the same as soon as the organization is completed.
